Driver
Training Standards
There are no defined industry standards for driver safety education.
Fleet First has defined
a national standard that is used by all our instructors throughout
North America. This system,
called Positive Driving Strategy (PDS - our instructor’s
handbook), is issued to all qualified Fleet First
driving instructors and is the guarantee for companies with
national fleets that standards of
instruction will be uniform no matter where they are located. |

Commitment
to Safety
To ensure the safest driver training program possible, Fleet
First implements the following standards:
- Educated
event staff
- Experienced/knowledgeable
instructors
- Proper
instruction before program begins and prior to every exercise
- Timing
and distances of exercises, as well as vehicle-to-exercise
ratio are designed with
a large safety margin
- All
vehicles are checked by Fleet First event staff prior to
the driver’s exercises
for safety and suitability for the exercises involved

Credibility
To demonstrate to our clients that we “walk the talk”
we will provide to any fleet operator driver abstracts for
any Fleet First instructor, upon request. Wherever possible, driver
trainees are encouraged to train in their regular vehicles to learn how their vehicle will behave in given situations. |
